Paste a YouTube Link

How to use a YouTube video URL to generate sermon content in SermonAI.

If your sermons are already on YouTube, you can generate content without downloading or re-uploading anything.

How to use a YouTube link

  1. From your dashboard, click New Sermon
  2. Select YouTube Link
  3. Paste the full URL of the video (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...)
  4. Click Submit and wait for processing

SermonAI extracts the audio from the video and transcribes it automatically.

What types of links work

  • Public videos — work without any issues
  • Unlisted videos — work as long as you have the direct link
  • Private videos — are not accessible to SermonAI; you'll need to change the video's visibility to unlisted or public, or upload the file directly instead

YouTube Shorts and playlists

  • Shorts — YouTube Shorts links are supported
  • Playlists — paste the link to a single video, not a playlist URL; SermonAI processes one sermon at a time

Processing time

YouTube uploads typically take slightly longer than direct file uploads because SermonAI needs to fetch the video first. Expect roughly 90–120 seconds for most sermons.
